One commenter, Ngwe Mziwanda, challenged the bishop to resurrect youths killed by police if he truly was a man of God, while others doubted the efficacy of the cleansing ritual, noting widespread constituency opposition to the MP.
“Mwambie afufue hao vijana waliuliwa kama yeye ni mtu wa Mungu like Jesus did.” Which translates to “Tell him to raise those youths killed if he’s truly a man of God like Jesus did.”
Another, Erickoh da Kelly, suggested the church leaders may have received hefty payments to cleanse the residence, questioning why they hadn’t prayed for injured protesters.
“Those pastors must have received heavy envelopes. Did they pray for those injured? We dispute them completely.”
Another, Davis Young criticized the pastors for condoning leaders who betray the people, lamenting that churches have lost meaning by providing a platform for politicians to deceive the public, urging protesters to also scrutinize churches during future demonstrations.
